About sessions
The phases of hypnotherapy:
Sessions have 6 stages: Initial relaxation. Deeper relaxation. Actual therapy (suggestion, guided imagery etc.) Restoring full alertness (hypnosis is lighter than sleep.) Feeding back experiences, asking any relevant questions and discussion of what you can do later to make your session succeed.
You can assist therapy by: Avoiding stimulants such as tea or coffee for at least 2 hours before the session commences. Visiting a toilet before the session begins, so you can relax more. Ensuring you get a good night of sleep afterwards. I recommend not having alcohol until the next day as research indicates that it interferes with mental processing, which is a key aspect of the therapy.
